Shengwen Qi is a full professor at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and serves as the International Convener of ARC-15 of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG). He specializes in engineering geomechanics, geohazards, and geological engineering, with a focus on critical areas such as the stability evaluation of large-scale geological projects, high-level radioactive waste disposal, carbon dioxide storage, and hydraulic fracturing. | | | |
Prof. Qi has made significant contributions to the field, including the development of a novel dynamic direct shear testing device for rock mass and the establishment of the theory of rock mass structural dynamics. In addition to his research achievements, he is currently serving as Vice President of the IAEG, highlighting his leadership and impact in the global engineering geology community.
